Japanese Cars (Supra, 300ZX, RX-7, MR2, CRX, etc.)

• No Start / Crank No Start: Check ignitor & coil on 7M-GTE/2JZ; replace T-VIS actuator motor if stuck.
• Boost Cut / Hesitation: Clean or replace clogged fuel filter; inspect AFM/MAF connector.
• Overheating: Common on VG30/Z32 — burp cooling system; replace 30-year-old radiator cap.

European Cars (E30 M3, Porsche 944 Turbo, Ferrari 328/Testarossa, Mercedes W124)

• Timing Belt Service Overdue: 1988–1989 belts were 4–5 years/60k miles — replace immediately if rubber is original.
• Oil Leaks: Valve cover, rear main seal, and oil pan gaskets harden after 35 years.
• ABS Light On: 1988–1989 ABS sensors corrode — clean wheel speed sensor rings.

American Cars (Fox Body Mustang, C4 Corvette, GM G-Body, IROC-Z)

• TPI Runs Rich / Hesitation: Clean throttle body; replace 30-year-old O2 sensor and coolant temp sensor.
• Rear Main Seal Leak: Almost universal on 1988–1989 small-block Chevys — plan for replacement.
• Digital Dash Flickering: Re-solder cold joints or send to specialist for capacitor replacement.
